For this colorful title sequence we had the pleasure of reuniting with Juno producer Daniel Dubiecki. Jenny and I love making low-fi, hand-made sequences, and the filmmakers let us go wild with this one! 

In a time when title sequences mostly exist at the very end of the film, after the “fade to black,” this was a rare opportunity to go back to the 2000s – 2010s and make an OPENING title sequence. This is so much fun to do since we're able to build the sequence into the film itself, transitioning from live action at the beginning into the animated world. It also helps the filmmaker to set up Troye’s character and the film's locations.

Technology has fundamentally changed since we original developed the hand-made techniques for our Juno title sequence way back in 2007(!). The entire Three Months sequence was illustrated and animated on an iPad Pro using Procreate. The compositing was of course done in After Effects.
