We specialize in title design, montage sequences, split-screens, animation, visual effects, and graphics. We strive to collaborate closely with our clients to infuse the work with a strong sense of storytelling and conceptual thinking.
Our work was included in an exhibition at the Smithsonian’s Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum and the Walker Art Center.
In 2016, we were invited to present our work as part of the 21st Century in Design at Viacom exhibit in New York.
Smith & Lee have juried title design competitions for SXSW and The Motion Awards by Motionographer.
Gareth taught at UCLA Design Media Arts.
Gareth’s short film, This Guy is Falling, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2001.
Jenny’s work behind the camera has taken her to Tokyo, Tibet, and Sierra Leone.

… And if anyone is still reading, we met while working together on the Broadway musical Wicked doing video projection design with projection designer Elaine McCarthy. A two-year, long distance relationship ensued, and then we were living in the same city, and then we found ourselves collaborating on a title sequence for Jason Reitman’s first feature, and then sixteen years later, we found ourselves making this website.
